Our Practice

CLS Counselling is a Psychology Practice providing Christian based psychological support. Our psychologists are specifically trained to provide effective treatment and support for mental health symptoms, and general life problems. Counselling and psychological support may include difficulties with faith, church, relationships, and within oneself. 

There may be multiple concerns or symptoms that you are experiencing that are confusing, confronting, or distressing. Sometimes, symptoms may feel embarrassing or hard to manage – and reaching out for support may be difficult.

But genuine counselling creates an environment of unconditional acceptance and value - regardless of the problem, difficulty, or situation. 

Christian counselling supports all denominations and is available to those with no religious affiliation. Appointments may be available at one of our clinics*, or online. The Medicare Rebate is also available to alleviate counselling costs.

Psychology and Counselling

Our psychologists provide individual counselling for various mental health difficulties, including depression, anxiety (e.g., general, panic, phobia, social), low self-esteem, trauma, relationship concerns, grief and loss, sleep difficulties, and many other general life or spiritual issues. If you are not sure about your symptoms or difficulties, please contact us, and we will be happy to help. All our counsellors have advanced training in Christian counselling techniques. While mindful and respectful of Biblical teaching and the Christian faith, our Christian psychologists are experienced in various treatment techniques known to produce the best possible outcomes.

Christianity and Psychology

There may also be a belief that you should be able to solve problems by yourself (and tried hard to accomplish this). You may have been very hard on yourself, felt deflated, or told yourself to just have more faith, pray harder, or fast longer. However, there are times when a person may need objective, professional, private counselling in order to remove the blocks that are making it difficult to receive the promises of the faith.

Doing it alone is not easy - scripture speaks about when counselling, guidance, support, and related victory is important (e.g., Proverbs 11:14 | Proverbs 15:22). It provides examples of help from many individuals - such as Jonathan as counsellor, and his help and understanding for the Kings sons (1 Chronicles 27:32).

CLS Psychologists have the necessary understanding and experience to help address the particular counselling needs of Christian and non-Christian clients. Psychological bodies are increasingly recognizing the influence of different religious and cultural backgrounds on counselling and clinical work, including evidence-based treatment.

As described in the psychological and diagnostic literature, religious and cultural belief systems contribute to every aspect of client functioning including interpretation of experience, symptoms presented, and even treatment choices and perceptions of psychological care. A respect of religious client belief systems more fully informs assessment and treatment formulations; it provides the safety sought by our Christian and other clients, and enriches the counselling process providing the necessary understanding of each client and their specific needs.

Service Fees

Our rates for Psychological Counselling are reasonable. Fees and rates are dependent various factors and start from around $60 after Medicare rebate options. Additionally, pensioners and Health Care card holders may receive a concession rate. Most services attract the Medicare rebate. For further details on pricing, please contact us.
